Up Up Up - Givers

Ever since I heard this song on glee I have been absolutely in love with it! I have been meaning tio share it with you for some time, but I keep getting sidetracked by other things. I think the music video is pretty cool as well! Anyway here it is, you should check it out:

The Hunger Games

Look what arrived today...

I ordered these a while ago because I loved the film and everyone said the books were really good! My friend is totally obsessed with twilight even said that the hunger games is better, so I thought that I had to read them! If you haven't seen the film it is basically about an event called 'the hunger games' where two representatives from each district are chosen to compete against each other, and only the winner will come out alive. Katniss takes the place of her younger sister to compete in the hunger games, as well as Peeta (the boy chosen from her district). That was a rubbish summary, but it is a really amazing film; it has romance, friendship, action, everything! You should definitely watch it if you haven't already.

Today is the first day of study leave, and since I have finally got these I doubt will be doing much revising...

Maybelline Express Finish Nail Varnish

So I went into town today, it wasn't a hugely successful trip, but I did get this nail varnish which is really good. The colour I chose is 'turquoise lagoon' and it looks really good.

Another thing that I really like about this nail varnish is that it drys really quickly (40 seconds according to the bottle, but I didn't time it), and you only need one coat so you can use it even when you don't have much time. The nail varnish costs £4.00. This is probably my new favourite nail varnish!

Change...

I go on study leave next Wednesday(!), and next year I'm starting sixth form, so this has made me think a lot about change. I hate change! Although I am actually quite excited about starting sixth form next year, and the fact I get to wear non uniform and there are going to be boys (I go to an all girls school at the moment).

I was also thinking about how much people change. For example I have known my friend 'K' since we were in nursery and we have (had) been best friends for ages. But over the past year she has changed so much, I feel like I barely know her any more. We used to talk all the time, and practically live at each others houses, but know the only time we see each other is when her mum takes us to the bus stop. Then when we get there she will go off and stand with other people thinking she is too 'cool' to stand with us. It's not just me that thinks this either though, my friend 'Bambi' feels exactly the same. Sorry I'm rambling, but I just hate it when people change like that, and act like you aren't even friends, don't you? And I realise that I have probably changed too, but I just really miss her since we used to be attatched at the hip!

Those little things

These are just a few of the little things that always make me smile:

- Singing along really loudly (and out of tune)

- When someone gives you a genuine compliment

- Being given flowers - My love life is non existent, but one of the little boys that I babysit picks me flowers every time I see him. It is so cute :)

- When someone writes a whole essay inside your birthday card

- Being on a slow bus and watching a long quee of cars form ehind you

- Watching something you loved as a kid

- Brushing my horses - There is something really soothing about it as well

- The smell of freshly cut grass - I know it's cliche, but still

- The first snowflakes starting to fall

- Being the first person to walk in the snow

- Walking into a warm building after being outside in the cold

- Finding money you didn't know you had

- When a little kid reaches to hold your hand

- When there is only one of something left and it is in your size

I didn't realise how many things there are until I started writing this, I could seriously go on for ever! I will stop here though, don't worry.
What are the little things that make you smile?
Guess what I have just got back from doing... driving! Me, my brother and my dad went out to get something, and my brother ('J') decided that he wanted to have a go at driving the car. We were in my mums car which already has a massive dent in so my dad agreed, if it had been his precious car there would have been no way!

We drove over to a track that goes to my house, and doesn't have any houses (or people for us to run over) along most of it, and J got in the front. There was a lot of my dad shouting "CLUTCH, CLUTCH!",  stalling the car and me laughing in the backseat, and then it was my turn. I adjusted the seat (my thirteen year old brother is taller than me!) and I was off!

Driving went pretty well... until we came to corner! I didn't steer enough or something, and suddenly all three of us were heading straight for a bush! My Dad was shouting at me and frantically turning wheel, and luckily we missed the bush, it wouldn't have been fun explaining to my mum why her car was in a bush by the side of the road! The car (and the three of us) came out of it unharmed though, so I don't think I did too badly! Especially since the last time I tried to drive a car was when I was 12 and me and my brothers stole the car keys. I didn't even make it out of the drive that time!

I can't wait til next year when I can drive now!

Hi There

Hi,

Okay so what can I tell you about myself? I am a 15 (nearly 16) year old girl. I live in a small town in England, not really much to say there it's pretty boring. . I love horseriding, Glee, How I Met Your Mother, swimming and fanfiction.I am starting this blog because I love to write, and love telling random people out there in the world about my life and my opinions on anything and everything. I am new to the world of blogging, so any tips or whatever are always good.

I am currently in year 11, so I have just had to choose all of my a-level options for next year. Everyone at school has been asking what I want to be when I grow up. I wish people would stop asking this, because every time I give the same answer: I have no idea! Everyone else seems to know exactly what they want to do with their lives, even which Uni they want to go to, but I still feel like I am way too young to decide such big things as that. Do you know what I mean? I spent ages trying to decide what it is I wanted to do, and then I remembered this speech from twilight:

"When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. Our answers were things like astronaut, president, or in my case… princess.

When we were ten, they asked again and we answered - rock star, cowboy, or in my case, gold medalist. But now that we've grown up, they want a serious answer. Well, how 'bout this: who the hell knows?!

This isn't the time to make hard and fast decisions, its time to make mistakes. Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere chill. Fall in love - a lot. Major in philosophy 'cause there's no way to make a career out of that. Change your mind. Then change it again, because nothing is permanent.

So make as many mistakes as you can. That way, someday, when they ask again what we want to be… we won't have to guess. We'll know."
