Yesterday me and a friend got the bus to another friends house (the one who's birthday it was). As you might know I am not a fan buses, and last time we tried to get the bus to her house it didn't work out too well (you can read about that here). So anyway it was about 5 o'clock, which meant that it was already dark. We couldn't remember which side the bus stop was on, so we were both looking out on either side for my friends road. And then the bus driver stopped at this random bus stop, and was like "you have to get off here, because I am going back to the town centre now". He had taken a shorter route and missed out a load of stops, just because he felt like it. So we got off the bus, and we were just standing at this random bus stop in the dark, by a creepy wood, with no idea where we were. We had to ring my friend to come and rescue us in the end!
Another thing that I hate on buses are people who have a conversation with their friend who is sitting at the other end of the bus. If you want to talk go and sit next to them, don't shout down the bus so that everyone has to listen to your conversation.
I generally prefer trains to buses, but sometimes there are really annoying people on trains too. Like today. I sat down by myself, and then this huge group of people came and sat around me. They were being really loud, and they were all drinking. Even though it was about 10am. It was just really annoying.
I also hate the people on trains who sit at a table when they are by themselves. Why not just sit in a two seat? They really don't need 4 seats to themselves. Oh and I also hate the people who make you move your stuff so that they can sit in the seat next to you, even though the carriage is pretty much empty. Why do that?
I hope you enjoyed this random little rant,

18
It is my friend's birthday today, so last night we had a little celebration. We watched movies, ordered a takeaway, and she is turning 18 (the legal age for drinking in the UK) so of course we had some alcohol. We didn't get drunk though. I have actually never been drunk, and right now I am not really in a hurry for that to happen. This quote from Looking For Alaska sums up my feelings about drinking pretty well:

But that night, the booze felt great, as the warmth of the wine in my stomach spread through my body. I didn't like feeling stupid or out of control, but I liked the way it made everything (laughing, crying, peeing in front of your friends) easier.I like the way it makes you a bit happier, everything is a bit funnier, and the feeling of warmth throughout your body. But unlike some people I know I don't think you have to have alcohol to have fun. You definitely don't need to drink it all the time, or get drunk every weekend. Every once in a while it is quite nice though.

Personal Statements and Ucas
I finished my personal statement yesterday and sent my ucas (basically how you apply to university's in the UK) off today! I don't know how many of you have had to write a personal statement, or will have to write one in the future, but it is the most awful thing I have ever had to write. I am so glad that I have finished it and it is all sent off.
Now I just have to wait for my school to check my application, enter my predicted grades, and for my tutor to write my reference, and then it will be sent to the universities.
I am pretty terrified right now if I'm honest. What if I don't get any offers? It terrifies me that there is no longer anything I can do about it. I just have to wait and hope that I get some offers. Fingers Crossed.

Embarrassing Moments
Today at school my friend randomly asked me what my most embarrassing moment is. If you are as clumsy as I am you will have a lot of embarrassing moments. So this gave me the idea to do a blog post telling you guys some embarrassing things that have happened to me.
- I'll start with a classic - the skirt-tucked-into-your-knickers. So I go to the toilet at school, and I come out and walk back to the classroom. The lunch bell hasn't gone yet, so everyone is just standing around talking. After about 5 minutes this girl is like "Uh, Freya, your skirt is tucked into your knickers". So I had been standing there for 5 minutes with my knickers on full display! And to make it even worse I was wearing the most horrible granny knickers - you know that pair that you only wear when all your others are in the wash. And I must have walked down the corridor with my knickers showing as well.
- I was playing Manhunt with some friends, and me and two other people were being chased by someone on the other team. So the guy in front runs to the end of the road and jumps over a fence and into the field. Then the next guy does the same. They both made it without any problems, and it isn't a very high fence, so I'm thinking OK I can probably do that. So I run to the end of the road and jump the fence. But, my foot gets stuck in the top wire of the fence, and I trip and fall flat on my face...
- At our prom, everyone stood outside for photographs and to have some virgin cocktails before we could go in. I was standing around talking to my friends for a bit, and then it was time to go in. So everyone started walking in, but I couldn't. The heel of my shoe was stuck in a gap between the floor tiles. My friend had to pull it out for me, and that is why I don't normally wear heels.
For some reason these are the only things that I can think of at the moment. I assure you though I have had hundreds of embarrassing moments. While we are on the topic of embarrassing moments, don't you hate it when you say/do something really embarrassing and then your friend feels the need to make it even worse by saying "you've gone so red". That is a big problem for me, because I blush all the time!
Adiós Amigos!

Film Review: One Chance

One Chance tells the true (although of course tweaked to make a better movie) story of Paul Potts, the 2007 winner of Britain's Got Talent. Paul Potts is played by James Cordon, who I absolutely love, and he didn't disappoint.
The film made me laugh at times, and at times it brought a tear to my eye (although just to warn you I cry at far too many films!). It was such a nice story, and really touching. The fact that it had funny parts as well made it even better. I really enjoyed it and would thoroughly recommend going to see it if you get the chance.
Back to Reality
Half term has finished and today was the first day back at school. That means no more lie ins. No more movie marathons. No more long lazy days and late nights.
It is time to return to reality.
It is time to return to history coursework, personal Statements, university choices, homework, and of course ucas. I already can't wait for this term to end.
